Phase 3 Guidance Included in Emergency Preparedness Rule

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) released a Long Term Care Requirements CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule document. This document combines excerpts from the Final Rule, the Interpretive Guidelines, and revisions (New 3.6.19) from CMS to provide a consolidated overview document for the Long Term Care (LTC) Requirements.

The document includes the CMS updated regulatory language as a result of a Burden Reduction Rule published in the Federal Register on September 30, 2019. CMS has yet to release the final version of the Buren Reduction Rule, or guidance related to how it will impact Phase 3 implementation on November 28, 2019. The corresponding CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule presentation can be found in the downloads section of the CMS Emergency Preparedness webpage.
