Understanding Therapy Delivery in the New
Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM)
The Patient Driven Payment Model (PDPM) is scheduled to be implemented by CMS on October 1, 2019. The new payment model will base payment for skilled patients on characteristics rather than services delivered. Providers will need to understand how the new payment model is structured in order to be successful at navigating the change. A shift in thinking about value versus volume will need to be established and managed. This session will explore the new model and explain how it will affect therapy delivery and management. The session will also provide examples on how the new model will work and how to effectively manage and contract therapy services.
